David Knight - 15th Jan 2016

Our tribute to David Bowie's contribution to music videos earlier this week featured ten videos that spanned his career, and contained several of Bowie's collaborations with David Mallet in the late 70s and early 80s.

But somehow we omitted this one. The video for Fashion came right after Ashes To Ashes - and once again perfectly demonstrates Bowie's instinctive understanding of the medium. Shot in New York - and shot on beautiful video, like nearly everything was back in 1980 - it has rhythm and wit, and an utterly cool way of translating Bowie's satirical take on the fashion set with some wonderfully strange vignettes.

And most importantly of all, David looks amazing.
