Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band’s Albatross, Albatross, Albatross by Matt Daniels

David Knight - 28th Aug 2009

Matt Daniels, who directed the superbly brooding video for Damien Jurado's Caskets, and the indie-quirky Lolita for Throw Me The Statue, has directed another exceptional video with true cinematic scale.

Like in Caskets, Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band's Albatross, Albatross, Albatross features members of the band in a period drama, and in a stunning location. It was shot in San Juan and Orcas Islands in Washington State, telling an atmospheric, visceral ghost story. Matt and his team shot it with two RED cameras and a remote control helicopter to brilliantly capture the grandeur of the Pacific Northwest. Tremendous.
