It's Chriiiiiiiistmaaaaaaaaas!!!

You have to wait to the very end of Slade's seasonal classic to hear Noddy Holder's inimitable (and not particularly Christmassy) screech. It happens after about 30 repeated choruses, in fact - but it's always worth it in the end. 

Okay, its not Mozart. It's not George Michael either. But it did go straight in at No.1 when it came out in 1973 - fifty years ago. Love it or loathe it, there's nothing quite like it.

So now, Last Christmas, with that immortal video directed by Andy Morahan - and discussed at some length in the excellent Wham! doc on Netflix that came out this year - has finally made it to No.1 too. Big congrats to the Andys (Morahan and Ridgeley).

But this year, we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with some Seventies glam rock from Noddy and the boys. Because it sounds like its made by a bunch of lads who have just been reprieved from the naughty step. They're having a whale of a time. Hope you have lots of fun too.
