UK Music Video Awards 2017: Time Based Arts sponsors Best New Director award at UKMVAs

UK Music Video Awards 2017: Time Based Arts sponsors Best New Director award at UKMVAs

Promo News - 19th July 2017

Time Based Arts, the Shoreditch-based visual effects company, is coming on board as a partner of the UK Music Video Awards for the first time, by sponsoring one of the UKMVAs' most prestigious awards: Best New Director.

Time Based Arts is artist-owned and run and has quickly established a reputation for stellar visual effects and colour grading, working in commercials, film, TV and music videos.

Recent projects at Time Based Arts include Honda “Dream Makers” for W+K and TV drama Peaky Blinders. Music video projects include WIZ’s latest videos for Kasabian, Moonlandingz ft Rebecca Taylor's The Strangle of Anna by Dawn Shadforth, and Denai Moore's Trickle by Raine Allen Miller.

The facility has always consistently welcomed music videos, particularly for grading by members of it’s team of colourists, including head of colour Simone Grattarola, Jack McGinity and Myles Bevan.

Simone Grattarola says that the company is delighted to be sponsoring the award for the first time at this year's ceremony - to be held at the Roundhouse in London in October.

"Time Based Arts was started by a handful of makers with a passion and independence to do their own thing," says Grattarola, a former UKMVA winner himself. "We support creativity in all its forms and constantly try to remain true to our name by being 100% independent. We've grown into a large collective of artists who are keen to continue to support the next generation.

"Music video is about individual expression and vision. To create images that challenge and innovate. It promotes musicians and music through the skills and spirit of these up and coming film makers and that is inspiring. In turn we’re very happy to support the MVA New Directors award, and recognise the very best of this young group of creators."

Best New Director is one of over 30 awards that are open for entry until the deadline at midnight (BST) on Wednesday, August 2nd 2017. You can find out more about all the categories, and enter here

Following the entry deadline, judging of the UKMVAs begins next month. Nominations will then be announced in September. The UK Music Video Awards 2017 ceremony takes place for the second year running at the legendary Roundhouse in London, on Thursday October 26th. You can find out more about the UK Music Video Awards 2016 at ukmva.com.
