London indie rock outfit Little Cub have released this resonant and melancholic video by Lily Rose Thomas, offering up a glimpse into the life of a Londoner in her mid-twenties. It's a mature, beautifully shot portrait of London's twenty-something generation, an often vacuous and isolating experience where joy is chased through booze and drugs, kinship is fleeting and the disconnect between the expectation of what adulthood would be and the reality of it leads to a depressing dissonance. Post-industrial South London provides an excellent backdrop for this lonely urban tale, which we see repeating itself the next day in a continuum of unsatisfied emotional needs and occasionally hopeful text messages.
