David Ranson creates an offbeat performance promo for London four-piece Giant Party. 

Adorned in white suits, we see the band traverse London, hanging out, playing snooker and setting things on fire. And most importantly, they rediscover their sense of enjoyment in being a band in the video for the uplifting Angels Pout For Cameras.

Intercut with a performance section in a field in a gloomy English summer, the concept is abstract in its construction, but also radiates a sense of hope and positivity for the future. It takes one of the leading members of the band a little while to figure out that the future of Giant Party is worth fighting for, but he gets there eventually.

DAVID RANSON:

This was to show the band... embracing what's ahead of them. 

"This film was all about showing an audience the band's new look and a band re-ignited.

"Alan and Tim (band leads) have been friends of mine since we were at primary school together and since forming Giant Party years ago, we've always wanted to work with each other. Finally we got the chance!

"Shot over winter before lockdown, and again in the summer of 2021, this film was to show the band throwing away their old identity and embracing what's ahead of them.

"It also gave us a chance for us to set shit on fire, which is always fun and looks good on camera."
