Morcheeba 'The Moon' by Martin J Pickering
Martin J Pickering presents the second of a trilogy of promos for Morcheeba, this time for enigmatic track The Moon.
Following on from the watery depths of their previous promo for Sounds Of Blue, Morcheeba's Skye Edwards emerges from the waves and embarks on a hauntingly beautiful journey through a moonlit landscape. Only the lunar powers that be can decide where she will end up…
The cinematography of DoP Luke Biggins, and the VFX work of Matt Bowmer, pays homage to Sin City and gothic aesthetics, and the performances are top-notch. Keep your eyes peeled for the final part of this absorbing and haunting project.
MARTING J PICKERING:
The Moon, like Sounds of Blue [previously] lent itself to this magical theme.
“Collaborating closely again with Skye Edwards, I’ve developed a magical and fantastical look and feel for the album’s three main videos.
"I wanted to carry through a theme for a trilogy of videos where Skye and Ross’s characters go through a mystical journey. The Moon, like Sounds of Blue, lent itself to this magical theme, and so the Sin City vibe/werewolf idea came to life thanks to the visual effects by Matt Bowmer.
"It’s great to work on such fabulous songs with such wonderful talent. We’ve shot the final video of the trilogy which will be out in May.”
