Oscar Scheller 'Boys Cry' by Ben Eager
Ben Eager directs a solemn animated promo for Oscar Scheller's Boys Cry.
Mixing monochromatic line drawings with real-world photography, the montage of different art styles adds an introspective, abstract feel to the concept.
The vintage textures and iconography suggest a universal experience, which perfectly encapsulates the themes of the intimate track.
"This song is about society's view on masculinity and manhood and there being a distinct disconnect with most people’s realities including their own," says Oscar Scheller. "It’s about reclaiming the power of vulnerability, and calling people out who have shamed men for being vulnerable.
"Whoever told you boys don’t cry - that's a lie! I’m just spitting facts."
