Amaarae ft Kojey Radical & Cruel Santino 'Jumping Ship' by Remi Laudat

Rob Ulitski - 10th Dec 2020

Remi Laudat takes viewers on a journey through a Pan-African dancehall hangout, in his energetic promo for Amaarae featuring Kojey Radical & Cruel Santino.

The track deals with the conflicted emotions of leaving a partner for a new love interest, whilst the visuals are a no-holds-barred celebration of performance and movement.

Inside the vibrant location, dancers stalk the hallways with unabashed energy, whilst each of the artists have their own moment of discovery in the maze of rooms and connecting corridors.

It's an enigmatic, beautifully executed piece of work wrapped in a wonderfully nostalgic late 90's aesthetic.

REMI LAUDAT:

I wanted to create and bold yet sultry tone throughout.

"It was so much fun creating this lusty, hazy world. I wanted to project a Pan-African aesthetic that reflected parts of the artists' cultures as they ventured through this weird universe chasing a mysterious Aphrodite. They are being driven by their senses, as reality bends around them.

"I wanted to create and bold yet sultry tone throughout, using enticing colours that would represent each artist's experience whilst achieving a hyper-surreal look. The artists’ performances are what was really needed to pin this all together, so it was important to give them a space where they could be free and look effortlessly iconic."
