Liam Gallagher 'All You're Dreaming Of' by Anthony Byrne
Liam Gallagher and Christmas - on the face of it, not the likeliest combination. But Anthony Byrne manages to reconcile this apparent contradiction in his video for All You're Dreaming Of.
Not that Yuletide is explicitly mentioned here, but Byrne keeps things simple yet seasonal, with Liam being his unsmiling, arguably Grinch-like self in a couple of reasonably festive settings. Working with editor Chris Roebuck, he has layered images over each other to inject a dreamier atmosphere. And as with his previous video for Gallagher, for One Of Us, the director best known for his work on Peaky Blinders completed this one in black and white.
Ultimately it's Liam's heartfelt delivery of the song that gets the seasonal spirit flowing - and also sparks memories of his great inspiration John Lennon, who died 40 years ago this month.
And as all the proceeds of the release will be donated to the charity Action For Children UK, Liam really is more like Santa than that gruff exterior suggests.
