Red Hot Chili Peppers 'Sick Love' by Beth Jeans Houghton
In their never-ending quest to preserve California for future generations via the medium of art, Red Hot Chilli Peppers have decided to get a little more lo-fi than usual.
RHCP have turned to British musician and visual artist Beth Jeans Houghton (aka DuBlonde), who has duly delivered a splendidly grotesque, grim and visually arresting tour of Hollywood's seedy underbelly in this clip for Sick Love.
Following a girl who moves from Australia to Hollywood in search of fame and fortune, Houghton's video offers the complete antithesis of the American Dream (and MTV-style production values). Basic animation and primary colours interpret the song's downbeat lyrics as a world full of demons, filth, and bodily fluids (including bright green vomit) washing away all hope of a glamorous LA existence.
