Racetrack Gospel 'Wiseblood' by Youth Hymns

Following a slew of videos shot on VHS and a sideline in zany animation, Youth Hymns try their hand at live-action narrative shot in a proper hi-res format in their video for Racetrack Gospel's track Wiseblood.
And we're taken into a convincing English approximation of American suburbia, following a young girl riding around her neighbourhood on her bicycle, incognito in bandana and face-mask, on the hunt for two younger kids with similarly masked identities - its an idyllic situation with an unsettling undertone.Â
As Youth Hymns explain below, it was not easy achieving this new level of production slickness, but they improvised...Â
YOUTH HYMNS:
"It was a true lesson in guerrilla filmmaking. We had to shoot fast using some rather questionable techniques to achieve long and steady tracking shots. For the road shots we filmed out of the back of our 1,000 year old Volkswagen Transporter van (RIP). However it was a little too big for some of the locations.
"Fortunately we struck gold on eBay days before the shoot, finding an old BMX with a DIY sidecar welded on the side for £60. With one of us riding and one of us hanging from the side, we managed to capture perfect ‘Hollywood'-level smoothness..."
