Experimental filmmaker Kurtis Hough has created this black and white, fifteen-minute long journey of a video, featuring a hybrid of cosmic computer-generated motion graphics and Hawaiian lava-flow timelapse footage, augmented by fuzz-topped animated trees that intensifies the otherwordly atmosphere of the piece. 

The artpiece is underpinned by a composition by Colin Stetson which heightens the raw texture, tone and movement of the visuals. It's the latest example of Kurtis Hough's fascination with the emotive power of natural phenomena, giving the viewer a taste of a wider, dangerous and exciting world, awe-inspiring in its creative and destructive power.
