At last, Eric Wareheim arrives at mainstream pop. The music video-directing half of comedic duo Tim & Eric has been the creator of unsettlingly grotesque yet hilarious music videos down the years. Most recently, he directed an ultra-dystopian satire of the Middle American lifestyle for Mr Oizo's Ham. But for feisty Charli XCX's track Famous - made for the YouTube Music Awards – Eric gives the fixations of the first-world teenager a proper Wareheim-esque makeover. 

We arrive in the bedroom of a gushingly girly, image-obsessed Charli XCX fan, who starts to be bothered by a series of freakish characters from under her bed. And while Charli herself undergoes a creepy transformation, the girl is confronted with her biggest test. Can she resist the lure of the evil selfie-monster?
