Portuguese motion designer Élio Mateus's video for rock-instrumentalists Imploding Stars' video for Earthquake starts as a stream of images expressing the power and beauty of nature, but leaves its real firepower to the second half of the film. That's when geometric projectiles break through the surface of the earth and head into the skies. 

Élio's VFX work comes into its own as we witness what looks like a mass evacuation of the planet, ultimately into orbit. The quote he's supplied enigmatically summarizes:  "Mother Nature brings serenity to humans. But the human being carries the chaos. The chaos will lead to the catastrophe that will destroy the Earth. At the end is the matter. But the matter is not an end, but a beginning."
