Sam Pilling’s intriguing and gripping video for Elliott Powers’ On the Windrush follows a ghostly lone figure scavenging in a post-apocalyptic wasteland - a figure who looks like a human as picked up on a thermal-imaging camera in the real world. But it turns out this feral man-child not alone - or unique. And then things turn violent.  

Sam created his thermal-image men in the normal world, not with a thermal-image camera, but courtesy of painstaking rotoscoping. Impressive indeed.
