Take That’s Up All Night by Daniel Wolfe

Take That’s Up All Night by Daniel Wolfe

David Knight - 2nd Feb 2009

The music video campaign since Take That's comeback has been superb - strongly instrumental in elevating them once again into a nation's affections.

The music video campaign since Take That's comeback has been superb - strongly instrumental in elevating them once again into a nation's affections. But this is still quite a surprise: a Take That video so grittily realistic one can almost sense the guiding hand of a Ken Loach or Shane Meadows. Actually Dan Wolfe, quite possibly inspired by the song's hefty nod to Oasis, has conjured this timeless English scene of honest fun - the street party - and come up with an image of the band that's even cooler - as a four-man Chas & Dave. Masterstroke. It was shot in Croydon, and it was cold (but, you'll notice, not snowing) and like the rest of Dan's work, it's a proper slice of music vid cinema. Just like in the good ol' days...
