KC Locke reunites with Manchester rapper Meekz for their biggest visual statement yet - a takedown of the copycats who have followed in his wake, riffing on the visual legacy that artist and director have built up in their previous collaborations.The video for Mini Me's returns to the scenario of the breakthrough Like Me video, featuring several incarnations of the masked rapper in a studio setting. Then Meekz heads out of the studio, and into a fully-realised CGI-created world. This is the destroyed, abandoned city that dominates the second half of the video, with Meezk travelling through this dystopian scenario on a speeding freight train.[imgtoken data:1]Make no mistake, it's an epic that is designed to dazzle.&nbsp;The first part features dizzying motion control work by G6Mocco, with Meekz scornfully taunting the plagiarists around him while floating and spinning through the air in a chair fixed to a massive robotic camera control rig, riding the machine like he’s at an amusement park. The second half of the video presents Meekz in a wild doomsday world with blazing effects created by VFX studio LMNTL.&nbsp;“Meekz wrote this song as a reaction to how others were stealing his brand and our style of filmmaking,” says&nbsp;Locke who has used motion control extensively in this video. The same is true in several of his other&nbsp;collaborations with the artist - but it's the first time Locke has had Meekz swung around by the Moco system's robot arm.[imgtoken data:2]“We created something here that references our past work together and then moves beyond the pretenders who have copied and cloned him, and into the post-apocalyptic future where Meekz is the only artist left standing. Stormzy celebrates his 30th birthday in style with #TheMikeGala, and uses the occasion as a the perfect opportunity for a music video.Enlisting Troy Roscoe to capture the visuals, the video for Angel In The Marble is an elegant 'who's who' of the British entertainment industry, intercutting glossy portraiture with heightened performance moments.&nbsp;Shot by&nbsp;Rick Joaquim, the contrast of fly-on-the-wall footage and glossy posed snapshots creates a concept that is both ambitious and luxurious - very fitting for one of the biggest artists in the industry right now.&nbsp;"What an absolute pleasure to have the pressure of delivering the most important birthday present of all for Stormzy’s 30th," Roscoe says.&nbsp;"Stormzy and team wanted the visual&nbsp;to be nothing short of clean, glossy and to scream elegance. As hard as it was to not include one bit of VFX, I’m so happy with the turn out."The visual is so different to anything I’ve done before as my style revolves heavily around surrealism and visual effects - but in this instance it pushed me to focus on simplicity and beauty, both on the day and in the edit. The night was hectic but exciting, meetings all of those guests and getting to share such a special occasion with Mike himself.&nbsp;"The grade and slow motion footage really tied everything together and gave it a unique look. With greyscale footage all being shot at a slow frame rate to provide the beauty, and the graded footage in the booth providing the contrast and personality."
