Phil Lee, longtime video commissioner at XL Recordings, who departed the label at the end of last year, has now joined Untold Studios as creative director.

Lee joins the new Shoreditch-based independent creative studio, launched last year by Darren O’Kelly and Neil Davies, having built a formidable reputation at XL, commissioning award-winning creative content, including iconic music videos, for the likes of Adele, Beck, Jack White, The xx, Radiohead, The Prodigy, Sampha, MIA, FKA Twigs, Sigur Ros, Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal, Vampire Weekend and The White Stripes. He won the Best Commissioner award at the UKMVAs in 2016, and has been featured as one of the Top 50 Creative Leaders in Creative Review.  

Lee joins as creative director at Untold, responsible for developing and overseeing the company's creative output, working across advertising, music and original entertainment.

Based at London’s White Collar Factory, the fast growing studio launched last October and is already creating projects for brands such as Nike, ASOS, Sony, OPPO, Universal, Mini and Amazon and working with some of the most award-winning agencies, production companies and brands globally.
