Sarah Park named EP: Music Videos at Pulse in LA

David Knight - 20th Apr 2015

Pulse Films has appointed Sarah Park to the position of Exective Producer: Music Videos in the company's LA office.

A hugely experienced producer of music videos, who has worked with Pulse on numerous occasions in a freelance capacity, her credits include the SXSW Best Video award-winning video for Vitalic's Stamina, and J Cole's She Knows with Pulse director Sam Pilling, which won the Best Urban Video International award at last year's UKMVAs.

Park will now be responsible for nurturing Pulse’s portfolio of directors with a specific focus in music videos. She says: “I am delighted to be joining Pulse at such an exciting time. Having worked with the team for a number of years, I am thrilled to be a part of their ambitious plans for growth on a global scale.

"Pulse’s commitment to innovation and their multi-disciplinary, integrated approach with consistent cross-over between sectors is something that really appealed to me," she adds. "In this role, I want to both develop new talent, and cross talent over - getting directors with experience in the fields of film, commercials, art and tech to turn their skills to the genre of music, producing videos that will transform what we have come to expect from the medium.”

Park is also looking to keep ahead of the pack, exploring new technologies in delivering exciting content. "With music videos, elements like interactivity will be a key focus for the future, producing content that engages the viewer on multiple levels," she says. "Within such a competitive landscape these technological advances will be key to ensuring music videos continue to have immense relevance within our culture.”

Kira Carstensen, president of commercials and music videos at Pulse in Los Angeles, says that having already worked with her for a number of years, the company is delighted to have "formally" welcomed Park into its structure. “Sarah’s skill for producing videos that are both innovative, challenging and award-winning fits perfectly with our own company ethos," she says. "As we continue to grow on a global scale, Sarah’s presence will further enhance our exciting offering within the music video sector.”
