Hurtwood Prize for Young Filmmakers 2013 - to make a video for Hudson Taylor

Hurtwood Prize for Young Filmmakers 2013 - to make a video for Hudson Taylor

David Knight - 12th Nov 2013

The second annual Hurtwood Prize for Young Filmmakers is now live, inviting young filmmakers aged between 16 and 24 years old to make their own videos for either of two tracks for Polydor-signed duo Hudson Taylor.

Briefs for the two tracks – Called On and Beautiful Mistake – can be accessed now from the main page of the Hurtwood Prize - Hudson Taylor Video Contest. The deadline to make a video for Called On is November 22nd, and the deadline for Beautiful Mistake is December 6th.

As with the first Hurtwood Prize last year, this year's competition is intended as a platform to discover and promote fresh, new talent, and offer a opportunity for young people to enter the music video production industry. For the first year of the Hurtwood Prize, leading members of the industry, including directors, producers, DoPs, art directors and editors, explained their work and offered advice to entrants in a series of filmed tutorials that can still be viewed on the Hurtwood Prize YouTube channel.

Organised by MoFilm, this year's contest is supported by Huffington Post UK, Polydor & Vevo. The winning videos will go on to be used as official videos by the band and will be promoted across Vevo's channels alongside support from the band and record label. The two winners will also be given a MacBook loaded with Final Cut Pro.
