Catholic Action 'Rita Ora' by Ciaran Lyons

Luke Bather - 19th Oct 2016

Ciaran Lyons explores the world of crowd-sourced art in this clip for Glasgow band Catholic Action.

With the song centred around the eponymous pop star, Lyons decided to scoop out drawings of her from the bucket of weird that we call the internet. The results were, to put it nicely, varied, but that's all part of the fun.

CIARAN LYONS:

"The idea for the video was to spam sites like Gumtree and Craigslist all over the world with dubious looking ads asking people to make drawings of Rita Ora. The plan was to use anything and everything we got sent - so long as it was of Rita Ora.

"One of the things I liked about the song is that it doesn't say that Rita Ora is either good or bad - it just says: 'Rita Ora'. That was the approach I wanted to take to the drawings - no quality control whatsoever."
