Little Mix are brought to life in a stop-motion fuzzy-felt wonderland,&nbsp;in Zac Ella's 80s-tinged video for Break Up Song.&nbsp;After being forced to pull the plug on the live action version of the video the night before the shoot - due to the looming lockdown- Zac wasn't quite ready to give up on the concept just yet.&nbsp;And thank God he didn't. The ensuing video is a testament to creativity and ingenuity, featuring bold, vibrant animation - delivered in stop-frame fuzzy-felt animation&nbsp;- and some of the best self-filmed performances from the lockdown so far.&nbsp;Felt animator&nbsp;Lawrence Becker gives the project a unique flair, diving head-first into challenging transitions and movements, whilst ensuring to keep things&nbsp;glossy and pop. Zac Ella and Emile Rafael get together to explore a series of&nbsp;Bad Decisions in Bastille's latest video.&nbsp;In a series of violent vignettes, Dan Smith from Bastille kills another version of himself over and over, as his previous incarnation makes bad decision after bad decision. Funny and irreverent, the series of characters Dan plays are over the top, extreme and surprisingly incapable&nbsp;at doing the right thing.&nbsp;Shot with a public access television aesthetic, the main guru character is especially relevant in the current zeitgeist, where anyone can claim they are specialists without any kind of fact-checking. The juxtaposition of the TV persona and the guy we see eating in a run-down dive bar is hilarious and ironic, and each character following seems to get crazier and more absurd.&nbsp;Executed perfectly, Dan's strong performances bolster the project, and help turn a very good concept into a great final video - a one-off collaboration between Agile Films' directors Ella and Rafael.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Zac Ella&#39;s return to music videos for The Magic Gang requires you to keep your eyes peeled at all times.It may start as&nbsp;a tried-and-tested sitcom trope - son brings girlfriend to meet his parents and have squirm-inducing dinner - but things get progressively darker and weirder. And make less sense as the visual continuity errors start appearing.So pay attention, and see if you can pick up on all of the purposely-placed continuity errors throughout the video - some really easy, and some really hard. There&#39;s a lot - and they&#39;re listed at the end.&quot;Yeah - it&rsquo;s pretty much inspired by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGHJ4loOVCU" target="_blank">The Krypton Factor&rsquo;s observation round</a>,&quot; says Ella. &quot;This could quite easily have gone down the colourful slapstick route but it drifted into the dark with a sober approach to the cinematography.&nbsp;&quot;We was pretty fortunate to get all the cast we reached out to - including Brass Eye&rsquo;s David Cann and Eastenders&rsquo; Maddy Hill - which some&rsquo;s up the dark-hearted comedy we were aiming for. &nbsp;That and a bloke in a dress always helps.&quot;&nbsp; &nbsp;

In the video for These New Puritans&#39; V (Island Song), directed by animation team PICNIC, a group of islands is revealed to be a girl lying in a bath, who then emerges to go&nbsp;to a&nbsp;cinema, to be immediately lured into the screen by the hand of a beast, and then finds herself falling into a wheel of knives to be&nbsp;sliced into little pieces to become hors d&#39;oevres for party guests...Nice. This darkly surreal tale (which is also the second video this year to feature a wrecking ball) was&nbsp;scripted by TNP&#39;s frontman Jack Barnett &ndash;&nbsp;who also provided sketches and quotes - and then&nbsp;brought to life by PICNIC, who used a combination of 2D and 3D to create over seven minutes of&nbsp;animation in just over a month. A great achievement, and a weird and wonderful end result.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Zac Ella put a lot of himself into <a href="" target="_blank">Magic Happens</a>, his last video for Virals - and the same goes for the follow up, for Shake It Up. the result is, well, eccentric. But that's what Zac does best... 
"The video for Magic Happens was full of nostalgia that followed a young me ambitiously pursuing the dream of being a magician," Zac explains. "For Shake It Up, the feelgood family vibe continues. With a look at another of my childhood memories; wanting to be a girl. I knew I wanted to create something that was definitively upbeat and fun for all the family whilst capturing the summery-pop vibe of the song. The best way to do this was with a sing-a-long video put within a Children's TV context...with a bizarre twist.
"When I was six, my sister would dress me up as a girl. We'd tell the neighbours that I was a cousin coming to stay and my name was Catherine Louise. I wanted to recreate this innocent sense of sibling togetherness by comping my face on one of the girls. The results are a little surreal whilst retaining a certain innocent charm. But, I don't think I could get away with it in the real world." You might be right there Zac...

With his videos for Rent Boys and 5 Stages Of Rave, Zac Ella is developing a bit of a reputation as an agent provocateur. But he says that the label only allowed him to write a treatment for Virals' Magic Happens on the condition he stayed away from willies and bums... and turned it around in three days.
"I instinctively remembered creating a Magic Show in my Gran's living room and performing to a sold out audience of my Granny and Sister with my Grandad filming the moment on his "gadget". When I pitched it to the label and artist they instantly gave the green light. 
"It was only looking back through the old footage that I noticed we had spent a day out in Shipley to visit the Sooty's Wonderful World - *BONUS* a day I had completely forgotten until now! I was a bit apprehensive that it may be a bit egotistical on my part, plus my sister didn't really want to be seen picking her nose. However, I think the final result is quite an endearing and heart warming insight into a magical family day out."

Beginning with something that makes the weeing scene in Big Bad Wolf look like it comes from My Fair Lady, Zac Ella teamed with Leeds's 'cheeky' Rent Boys to make a video for Shoot The Shot that's disgusting, offensive, puerile, and sets a new benchmark for the most inappropriate use of food. The sheer relentlessness and graphic intensity of it is quite admirable - although not best enjoyed while having your lunch. 
"We found the perfect location, sneaking into a local rag factory one weekend, trying not to make too much of a mess," says Zac of the shoot in Leeds. "Bit weird that half way through filming we noticed security cameras high on the ceilings. Hope no one was watching on the other end...". Clearly not, otherwise they surely would have called the Yorkshire Constabulary.

Zac Ella delivers a slick and distinctive promo with key lyrics punctuating the action, to match the cool, polished indiepop of Various Cruelties' Chemicals. 
"Primarily it's a performance video," explains Zac. "The style and aesthetic was to relay a certain chemical experience. From the introspective "black and white" moments of thought to the full blazing colour of clarity. It has a handful of visual references that play homage to the 60s.
"We wanted to keep things slick and simple, pushing the budget we had into creating the best possible picture".
