Rattling Stick launch music video department and new 'DirtyWork' roster

Promo News - 11th July 2018

Top London production company Rattling Stick has announced the launch of it's first ever dedicated music video department today (July 10th), as well as the addition of new roster under the DirtyWork banner, which will find, support and nurture new talent.

Headed by new head of music Emma Wellbelove, the new music video department will represent Rattling Stick directors that have been active in making music videos in the past couple of years - including Jack Whiteley, Ed Morris, Joel Kefali and Henry Busby - and their stellar roster of commercial directors, several of whom cut their teeth in music promos, for special projects - including Ringan Ledwidge, Traktor, Sara Dunlop, James Frost and Loren Denis.

The DirtyWork roster for emerging talent launches with six exciting directors: Sam Davis, Harry Barber, Pilgrim, Amar Hernandez, Eve Mahoney and Nathan James Tettey. They will be all be available for music videos, photography, documentary, commercials and more.

Emma Wellbelove joins Rattling Stick having established herself as a respected music video producer in the past few years. “Music videos are so valuable for all directors," she says. "They're an opportunity to up creativity and are a hugely accessible short form in which directors continue to push boundaries.

"Many of the Rattling Stick directors have cut their teeth in music videos (some of the greatest!) before going on to huge success in commercials and film - they are visionary filmmakers and I couldn’t think of a better place to grow our new generation of directors. Music video is an outlet of inspiration no matter where you are at in your career and with such a talented and varied roster, I feel very privileged to be a part of growing the Music Department here."

"We intend to bring our creative ambitions to the world of music and look forward to the opportunities this opens up for us."

The move follows Rattling Stick's increased activity in music video production in the past couple of years, with Jack Whitely's award-winning video for The Staves, Elton John and Young Fathers; Ed Morris's videos with Ibeyi, and Ledwidge's Massive Attack video for Voodoo In My Blood.

Katie Keith, Rattling Stick's First Lady, says: “We have long since worked with emerging talent in a more off-roster and less official capacity, so it feels like a natural progression for us to bring this into Rattling Stick with dedicated resource to give such exciting creative talent the appropriate support and opportunity.

"Nurturing new blood is hugely important to us, and launching a dedicated roster reflects both our commitment to this and the growing importance within our industry of talent breeding talent. To couple this with our first ever music department under the leadership of Emma is an incredibly exciting venture for us.

"We all know how music video has had a renaissance of late and brings real creative opportunity to our directors at every level. We intend to bring our creative ambitions to the world of music and look forward to the opportunities this opens up for us.”
