Nathan R. Smith joins Kode Media

American director Nathan R. Smith, director of videos for DRAM and Lil Yachty, Joey Bada$$, T-Pain, Erykah Badu and other leading artists, has joined Kode Media for UK music video representation.

Hailing from Washington DC, Smith (above) starting forming relationships with up-and-coming artists Goldlink, DRAM, Mick Jenkins and Joey Bada$$ after graduating from film school.

Smith's ability to evoke emotions through hard hitting narratives can be seen in videos such as Mick Jenkins’ Drowning and Joey Bada$$’ Temptation, which premiered at Sundance Next Fest this past summer. In contrast, his sense of humour and versatility comes through in the double MTV Video Music Award nominated video for DRAM and Lil Yachty’s Broccoli.

Nathan Killham, Kode's Head of Music Videos, says: "Aside from being gutted to share my name with somebody else in the Kode family, I’m overjoyed to be reunited with Nathan after producing promos with him over the past couple of years. It’s in that time where I got a real sense of his incredible vision and ability to collaborate with artists, so it’s great to now welcome him to our roster.”
