Sam Bould joins Cut+Run London

Promo News - 7th Aug 2017

Cut+Run London have announced the arrival of Sam Bould to their Wardour Street studios. With ten years of editing experience, he joins the roster of editors at Cut+Run London from Big Chop.

Bould has established his reputation on commercials and music videos, working with high profile directors including The Sacred Egg, David Stoddart and David Crook. One of his recent projects was the acclaimed Sacred Egg-directed TV campaign for Mailchimp.

He has also been shortlisted for the best editing award at the British Arrows and also at the UK Music Video Awards - for his work on the Breach video for 'Jack' in 2013, again for The Sacred Egg. Bould has also edited videos for Arcade Fire, Royal Blood, Nicolas Godin, Ty Dollar $ign (directed by The Sacred Egg), Tom Grennan (Matt Walker), Lokate (Clemens Habicht) and Professor Green (Danny Chan).

He started out cutting skate videos, learning his craft by observing the distinct, rhythmic approaches to editing and the integration of music and action, with French New Wave Cinema and the work of Jonathan Glazer being his influences throughout.

Commenting on his move to Cut+Run London, Bould says: "Since my first day in the industry I have always seen Cut+Run as the place for high quality editing. To be joining the team is an honour, I can't wait to start working with them.”

Cut+Run editor and partner Ben Campbell adds: "Within 5 minutes of meeting Sam, I knew he was the right fit. He’s a natural editor, is as passionate about his work as anyone I’ve met and has been working with some of the most exciting directors around.”
