UK Music Video Awards 2017: one week left to enter the UKMVAs!

David Knight - 26th July 2017

There’s one week left from today (July 26th) to enter the UK Music Video Awards 2017 – the deadline is next Wednesday, August 2nd.

Entries are being made to over 30 categories this year, as the UKMVAs covers the best work in British and international music videos by music genre, technical expertise, and individual achievement.

The music genre categories for Best Pop, Dance, Indie/Rock, Alternative and Urban – which include sub-categories for UK, international and newcomer videos (the latter made for under GB£5K) – have seen entries pouring in from home and abroad. But there’s still time to get your videos in front of the judges.

In the technical categories, there is the customary range of awards to celebrate the art and craft of music video production – Animation, Choreography, Cinematography, Colour Grading, Editing, Production Design, Styling (including wardrobe, hair and makeup styling) and Visual Effects.

The Individual categories for individual achievement throughout the eligibility period, for Best Director, Best New Director, Best Producer, Best Commissioner and Best Music Artist. In addition there is a brand new category, Best Production Company. Like the individual categories, this new award will be judged bestowed according to the judges' decision on the most exceptional body of work over the past year.

Additional categories include Best Interactive Video, and two live music categories, Best Live Concert and Best Live Session, replacing the single live music award of previous years.

Full definitions of all the categories are available at ukmva.com/categories. Submission of entries - either for a video entry, or an individual - is also made at the UK Music Video Awards website. The cost per entry is £75+VAT.

Video entries should be work that has been completed and approved by the commissioner in the 12 months from August 1st 2016 to July 31st 2017. For questions about the eligibility of your entry or entries, or any other queries, please contact the UKMVAs team on info@ukmva.com. You can also refer to the UKMVAs' terms and conditions.

After the entry deadline, the first round of judging for the UK Music Video Awards 2017 will begin the week of August 9th. After judging panels meet to discuss the shortlists in the second round, the nominations will be announced in the third week of September.

The UK Music Video Awards 2016 ceremony and aftershow party takes place for the second year running at the legendary Roundhouse venue in London on October 26th 2017.
