Kasabian make history with video streamed live as it's shot

David Knight - 9th May 2017

In a world's first, the video for Kasabian's track Are You Looking For Action? was streamed live on Facebook as it was filmed earlier this evening (May 9th).

Co-directed by Aitor Throup and Sing J Lee, and produced by Partizan, the one-shot video for the second single from Kasabian's new album For Crying Out Loud, was simultaneously broadcast on the band's Facebook page at the same time as it was being shot in the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club in London's East End, thereby becoming the first ever 'actually live' music video.

The video - now available to stream again on Kasabian's Facebook page – features bandmember Sergio Pizzorno walking into the club packed with people wearing different fancy dress outfits according to which table they are sitting at. Pizzorno is the master of ceremonies, engaging with singer Tom Meighan, who at one point bursts from a giant cake to play a saxophone solo.

Throup has previously directed previous videos for Kasabian such as Eez-eh and Switchblade Smiles, in addition to directing videos for musician Damon Albarn and an art film for NOWNESS. Lee has recently returned to action in music videos with a new video for Halsey, after making his name with work for Years & Years and others before moving into commercials. The pair have worked together before, for G-Star RAW, which led them to collaborate again on this historic music video project.
